• What are the most effective Mindfulness techniques for managing a team with diverse backgrounds?

• How can you ensure effective team collaboration?

  I have found that many teams have found themselves working remote and enjoying some of the benefits and flexibility. However, I have also noticed that things have become a bit more casual and disconnected. It's easy to put on facade of being engaged when on a Zoom call, when in fact, our minds are on a number of other things. I have been a remote employee, leading global teams my entire career and find the number one super power in the new remote world is human connection. The teams that spend the time on building connections and trust are several steps ahead of those that don't.

• How can you ensure effective team collaboration?

  Striking the balance of continuous celebration with positive reenforcement helps build a broader sense of belonging. Research (Frerickson, 2001) has shown that positive emotion can help improve productivity, improve work relationships, build greater resilience and overall improved health. This doesn't mean, we don't look for areas to improve or don't look at the big picture. However, I have seen teams fall into the swirl of negativity and struggle to dig themselves out.

  I agree that a solid Vision is essential. I have also found bringing people in to the conversation and have them contribute to drafting the SMART goals helps the broader team feel invested.
